Ascochyta leaf blight causes rapid straw-colored patches that can appear overnight. It is often mistaken for drought stress or fertilizer burn. While alarming in appearance, most lawns recover quickly with proper mowing height and watering practices.

Necrotic ring spot causes circular or ring-shaped patches of dead turf. It is more common in lawns with heavy thatch buildup or compacted soil. Kentucky bluegrass and fescue lawns are most affected, and recovery may require reseeding and long-term soil improvement.

Pythium blight appears as small, greasy-looking patches that can spread rapidly in wet, humid conditions. Infected turf may collapse quickly, sometimes overnight. White or gray fungal growth may be visible during early morning hours when moisture levels are high.
